Are you Ozawa's ideal man?

MANILA - You still have time, boys.

Japanese adult movie actress Maria Ozawa on Friday said that she intends settle down, but not anytime soon.
"Maybe 35," Ozawa candidly quipped when asked at what age she intends to marry.

The Japanese star, who became famous through the adult film industry, said she is 29 years old.

Ozawa also seems to have a certain type in men. At two separate occasions, she was asked on what she wants in a man, and her answers were nothing but consistent.

"He needs to be a gentleman... and athletic," said Ozawa. "I want muscular [men]," she quickly added.

Ozawa explained that she wants her man to be protective of her. Apparently, those were the same qualities that will make her fall in love.

Unfortunately for men though, Ozawa admitted that it is difficult for her to fall in love at the moment.

Ozawa landed on the cover of men's magazine FHM Philippines for July. She is back in the country for an autograph-singing event held Friday and to discuss her upcoming movie with Robin Padilla, the Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Nilalang."

High-end club sends apology to transgenders

A high-end nightclub that refused entry to a transgender fashion designer had issued an apology after stirring outrage from celebrity circles for the discriminatory act.

Ironically, one of the Valkyrie club’s owners, popular comedian Vice Ganda, is himself openly gay and had threatened to pull out his “very small share” in the wake of the incident.
In its statement released on Tuesday, the Valkyrie management apologized for refusing entry to international fashion designer Veejay Floresca earlier this month and said they do not discriminate against “transwomen and transgender individuals.”
The statement added: “The club does not refuse entry on the basis of an individual’s sexual orientation. The club has, on many previous occasions, welcomed transgender guests into its premises” and that its security personnel “were merely adhering to … safety policies and guidelines.”

Stressing that Valkyrie Nightclub and The Palace Pool Club are “private establishments,” the statement said the clubs “reserve the right to determine who will be permitted entry into their premises.”
Cross-dressers not allowed
But Floresca, a fashion designer whose work has received acclaim in Japan, China, the United States and Britain, said she was barred from Valkyrie on June 12, with a bouncer telling her that “cross-dressers are not allowed.”
On June 20, she tried to enter another uptown establishment, Pool Palace Club, owned by the same company, but was again blocked by a bouncer who questioned her California ID card, identifying her as a woman.
“No, you are still a man,” she quoted the bouncer as saying. However, a woman at the club intervened and got her inside, Floresca added.
The incidents touched off a firestorm with many accusing the management of discrimination.
Ganda (Jose Marie Viceral in real life) tweeted: “The ‘No Crossdressing Policy’ in any establishment is so THIRD WORLD. If Valkyrie implements this crap, I will pull out my very small share.”

‘One of you, one with you’
In another tweet, he said: “To all members of the LGBT community: I AM ONE OF YOU AND I AM ONE WITH YOU.”
TV talk show host Boy Abunda, who is also openly gay, expressed support for Floresca as well. “Whether you are a cross-dresser or a transgender woman… you still have rights,” he said.
The management said the clubs’ personnel were only enforcing a policy to deny entry to people whom they doubt is presenting an authentic identification card, the statement said.
“Club management recognizes, however, that it may be necessary to provide further training to its staff to ensure that they are better able to communicate the club’s guidelines and policies to its patrons in
order to avoid misunderstanding in the future,” it added.
The Philippines, which has a largely Catholic and conservative population, does not have a law forbidding discrimination against gays and transgender individuals and does not recognize same-sex marriage.
But a USAID study in 2014 indicated that “Filipinos are generally accepting of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people,” with some local communities passing ordinances that bar discrimination against them.
Another transgender female, Trixie Maristela recounted how she was similarly refused entry at Valkyrie on June 13, and said the incident showed that the “struggle” of the LGBT community in the country was “very real.”
Identified as male
Although her friends were allowed entry, Maristela could not get in because the lady guard saw her license identifying her as a male.
“She said there was a dress code: males were not allowed to use open shoes, and they were supposed to wear polo and pants,” Maristela said, recalling that she wore a neon green dress and open shoes with heels at that time.
A man who identified himself as security head Rolly Palanca approached them and also told Maristela that she was a male, based on her ID.
“Imagine, I only wanted to have fun. Why did I have to beg for them to allow me to enter?” the transgender said in a phone interview on Wednesday.
When Maristela told the security personnel that she was not refused entry on previous times, she was told that it was possibly because she had a VIP reservation at the club on those times.
The answer infuriated her even more since it showed that “if one had money, the (club) can bend their so-called rules,” Maristela said

P15,000 for VIP table
She wound up paying for a P15,000 VIP table at an adjacent club, Pool Palace, which Maristela said, has the same owners.
“Actually I spent more than P15,000 because I invited some of my other friends as well. I paid only because I wanted to show up (Valkyrie), make them realize that we can get in if we have money,” she said.
According to Maristela, the incident showed that the LGBT community continues to face real problems that “for the longest time were ignored” by society.
“The prejudice is still prevalent,” she said, adding that the incident had inspired her to speak up more about LGBT issues and to educate people about how to treat them “without (making) judgments.”
Dialogue on June 29
For a start, she and the Valkyrie management will sit down for a dialogue on June 29, Maristela said.
“I’m still giving them the benefit of the doubt because maybe there was only a wrong interpretation of the rules (on the part of their security),” said the LGBT spokesperson, who won the Miss Gay Manila pageant recently.

Jam's death goes viral on Twitter

MANILA, Philippines—The death of Internet celebrity Jamvhille “Jam” Sebastian, of the popular YouTube tandem Jamich, trended worldwide on Twitter on Wednesday.

At one point, the hashtag “RIPJam” even topped the list of the most-tweeted topics. As of 5:30 p.m., the hashtag remained on third spot.

Sebastian’s death from lung cancer—which he had battled for the past year—triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, where fans, show biz folks and other online personalities offered prayers, and extended condolences.

Zsa Zsa Padilla gave Michelle Liggayu—Sebastian’s fiancée and the other half of Jamich—a message of encouragement. “Stay strong. You’re in my prayers,” she tweeted.

Sebastian and Liggayu had established a considerable online presence and amassed a huge fan base of mostly young adults, thanks to their viral video blogs and short romantic films, which they produced, directed and starred in themselves.

Their official YouTube channel called, Jamich TV, has close to 570,000 subscribers. Before Sebastian’s death, Jamich had uploaded 30 videos that have so far notched over a million views—the most popular of which is “Text: Story of Best Friends,” which has about 8.7 million.

That short film, coincidentally, featured the two YouTube celebrities acting out a love story in which Sebastian dies in a hospital bed.

The news was confirmed by Sebastian’s mother, Maricar, on Facebook, where she had been sharing photos and updates about the condition of her son, whose health drastically deteriorated in the past few weeks. “The fight is over … We lost the battle,” she said.

Still, Maricar said she was proud of her son for never losing faith. “He fought until the end. He would give me two thumbs up from time to time, as if to say that he wants to continue on,” she told the Inquirer in a phone interview. “We almost lost him a week ago, but he gave us more time.”

Sense of relief

Although grieving for her loss, Maricar said that she also felt a sense of relief knowing that her son was at peace and unburdened by pain. She described Sebastian as a “down-to-earth and kind person.”

She added that she was overwhelmed by the amount of love Sebastian had been getting, even from total strangers. “I never knew that he had so many supporters and that he had touched the lives of many people,” Maricar said. “I’m very proud of him.”

Liggayu related on Facebook that her boyfriend of almost seven years was taken off life support after being on it since Thursday last week.

Till we meet again

“Let’s all pray that Jam finds love and comfort in the arms of God … Everything will be OK. We all love you … I’m sure you’ll have a great birthday celebration up there in Heaven,” she said in a message written in Filipino. “Thank you for everything … No words can explain; till we meet again.”

The Inquirer sought Liggayu’s comment through her handler but was not able to get any response as of press time.

The couple, which began putting out short films in 2011, had starred in music videos of such local acts as 6cyclemind and Davey Langit. Their popularity also piqued the interest of Viva Artists Agency, which signed them.

Soon they were booking guestings on TV shows, such as “Gandang Gabi Vice” and “Kris TV,” whose respective hosts, Vice Ganda and Kris Aquino, visited Sebastian at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig, where he was confined.

Message from Pacquiao

While Manny Pacquiao, one of Sebastian’s idols, wasn’t able to personally see the YouTube star, the boxing champion recorded a video message instead. “Be strong and courageous,” he said.

Sebastian, who proposed marriage to Liggayu in May last year, related in past TV interviews that, when he was feeling pain, he would think of his fiancée walking down the aisle. “I envision me being with her, with our future kids,” he said. “I vow to make it up to her.”

Liggayu said Sebastian’s bout with lung cancer had made their relationship even stronger. “I take care of him and encourage him as much as I could,” she said. “My love for him grows every day.”

Among those who mourned Sebastian’s passing were Gretchen Ho, Slater Young, Kakai Bautista, AJ Rafael, Davey Langit and Ramon Bautista, who said, “Salamat sa pagpapakilig at pag-inspire sa sambayanang Pilipino.”

Jolina shows cleavage as cover girl

MANILA - Jolina Magdangal has no trace of "jologs" in her cover appearance for fashion magazine Mega, where she poses in a revealing outfit to celebrate her "resurgence" as an actress.

Magdangal, whose first name was identified with the Filipino slang term for something out of style or done in poor taste, bares her cleavage wearing a powder pink plazer paired with slacks.

The March 2015 cover of Mega was unveiled early this week on the publication's Facebook page, where it also teased a photo of Magdangal showing the strap of her bra under an oversized navy blue suit.

Magdangal made headlines late last year when she officially returned to ABS-CBN, her home network of over a decade, after 12 years as a contract artist of rival studio GMA-7.

She currently stars in the afternoon soap "Flordeliza." The Wenn Deramas series sees her paired anew with Marvin Agustin, her onscreen partner in the '90s as a Kapamilya sweetheart.

TULUNAN, COTABATO: Hero's welcome awaits MJ Lastimosa

TULUNAN, Cotabato - The local government unit (LGU) of Tulunan is preparing for a hero’s welcome for Mary Jean "MJ" Lastimosa even if she failed to be among the Top 5 finalists during the 63rd Miss Universe pageant held in Miami, Florida on Monday (PHL time).

Mayor Lani Candolada said she is still proud of Lastimosa being a daughter of Tulunan since her joining the pageant gave the town an opportunity to be known throughout the country and even the whole world.

“We will give her a hero’s welcome if she opts to go home in Tulunan. Though she didn’t make it and win the crown, still she is our very own, one and only Miss Universe,” Mayor Candolada said.

Candolada said winning is just secondary and what is important is Lastimosa represented the Philippines well in the prestigious competition.

Lastimosa was born in Barangay Sibsib in Tulunan. However her family migrated to Davao City when she was in grade school.

“Inasmuch as we wanted MJ to bring home the crown, still there was the panel of judges that really worked hard to choose the next Miss Universe,” Candolada added.

Candolada is optimistic that despite the loss, Lastimosa can do more and aim high in future beauty pageants.

“You’re still young, MJ. Just continue to dream until such time that you achieve your goal in life,” Candolada said.

Meantime, Candolada was disgusted since the people of Tulunan were not given a chance to see in full the live telecast of the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Power fluctuations occurred in the service area of the Cotabato Electric Cooperative (Cotelco) on Monday morning.

The town of Tulunan itself experienced at least three power fluctuations to the dismay of constituents who trooped to the town hall building to see the live telecast of the pageant.

The power returned shortly before 12 noon, when it was already the announcement of the winners.

Enteng Baguio, Cotelco spokesperson, said the long brownounts were "just transient."

Philippines rank 19th in PornHub's viewership

PornHub, which calls itself the world’s number 1 porn site, has come out with stats on its 2014 performance – which is impressive – as well as “fascinating facts.”

According to their PornHub’s Insights, the porn site got a humongous 78.9 BILLION video views in 2014 compared to 63.2 billion in 2013. “This breaks down to 18.35 billion individual visits over the course of the year, translating to about 5,800 visits per second.”
PornHub Insights describes itself as the research and analysis team: “we’ve compiled data from billions of hits, all to explore the intricacies of online porn viewership.”
Okay, so how does the Filipino fit into porn viewing? Well, according to PornHub, the Philippines is one of the top 20 countries that delivered the most traffic, made the most visits to their porn site.

In fact, the Philippines is ranked 19th in 2014 – rising 7 points up from its 2013 rank of 26.
The top five countries are the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India and Germany. The only other Asian country in PornHub top 20 list is Japan.

And apparently it is not just the Filipino male watching porn – Filipino females are getting into it as well. PornHub, citing its data on viewership proportions of the top 20 countries, says the Philippines ranks 4th in having the most female porn viewers.

Of its Philippine viewers, PornHub said 26% are female and this is higher than that of the United States, United Kingdom, Russia and France. And the Philippine average is even higher than the world average, which is 23%,

The three countries that have more female porn viewers than the Philippines are: Brazil, Argentina and Poland.

Noting the World Economic Forum’s recent global gender gap report that “the Philippines is 5th of all countries as having successfully closed gender gaps,” Pornhub remarked that if the Filipina porn viewer data is juxtaposed with this, then "It looks like (the Philippines) is getting closer to sealing the same gap here too as far as porn is concerned.”

Sony cancels the movie 'The INTERVIEW'

There’s no way to talk about “The Interview” without discussing in detail the dénouement and the ending. Those are the crucial parts of the film, the best parts of the film, and the ones that have reportedly aroused the most controversy within Sony, the film’s producer and distributor. It’s unclear how many people will even get to see “The Interview.” As I write this, Sony has cancelled the release of the film and North Korea has been linked to the Sony hacking by the U.S. government.

Miss Earth Jamie Herrell on winning because of home advantage

MANILA, Philippines – New Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell, the pageant's Philippine delegate, said that she would rather keep quiet over rumors that she won the title because the pageant was held in the country.

"Sometimes you can't change the minds of people that think that way, I just have to keep quiet on that," she said during an interview on The Buzz Sunday, November 30.

“This is actually this is the home of Miss Earth, Philippines. It's a Filipino pageant, it started here. And for all of its 14 years, it's only been held once outside. And we've only won once, before me, which was Karla Henry in 2008. So for me, it's not really a home court advantage, because at the end of the day, it really depends on how much you work for it, and if it's meant for you.” (READ: Cebuana Jamie Herrell talks about her Miss Earth 2014 win)

‘Annabelle’ now the highest-grossing horror film in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines– New Line Cinema’s supernatural thriller “Annabelle” is now the biggest-grossing foreign horror movie ever released in the Philippines.
The film about a doll possessed by an evil spirit has terrified the local box-office to the tune of P121.13 million as of October 13, this according to Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. Philippines.
The gross of previous record-holder “Insidious: Chapter 2” at P113 million was actually surpassed by “Annabelle” after only 12 days of release.  Going into its third week, the demonic doll is tracking to dominate the coming weekend again as the audiences’ appetite for a good scare seems boundless.
“We expect to continue excellent box-office performance for `Annabelle’ as the Halloween season ushers in,” says Soliven.  “The combination of an engrossing story, great filmmaking and reliable association with last year’s hit horror film `The Conjuring’ propelled `Annabelle’ to succeed.  The film delivered in a huge way.”
About “Annabelle”:
She terrified you in “The Conjuring,” but this is where it all began for Annabelle. Capable of unspeakable evil, the actual doll exists locked up in an occult museum in Connecticut—visited only by a priest who blesses her twice a month.
In the film, John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia -- a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress.  But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long.
On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple.  Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind.  The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now...Annabelle.
Annabelle Wallis (“X-Men: First Class”) and Ward Horton (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) star as the Forms. Oscar nominee Alfre Woodard (“Twelve Years a Slave”) stars as Evelyn, a neighbor who owns a bookstore.
“Annabelle” reunites the filmmakers behind 2013’s hugely successful supernatural thriller “The Conjuring.” John R. Leonetti, who served as cinematographer on “The Conjuring,” directed the film.   James Wan, director of the global hit, produced “Annabelle” with Peter Safran. Gary Dauberman wrote the script.
Still showing across the Philippines, “Annabelle” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
